The Barn Loft

We gladly welcome the animal enthusiast to The Barn Loft!  Here you will be the invited guest of 5 beautiful horses.  That’s right, make no mistake, The Barn Loft is located INSIDE our equestrian barn!  While the horses bed down in pine shaving you will be afforded comfortable beds with all linens provided.  The loft area also includes a table and chairs, a sideboard table full of family friendly games and a Keurig Duo with mugs.  The area is screened but be aware that it is an “open air” environment.  Temperature within the barn is controlled by opening and closing the barn doors and airflow within the loft is controlled with the use of 4 fans.  There is a full bathroom, refrigerator and microwave on the ground floor of the barn as well as a gas grill, with side burner, and picnic table on the rear barn patio.  Additionally, our barn guests enjoy the outdoor fire-pit complete with roasting forks and sandwich presses.  We maintain a very clean barn but please recognize that IT IS A BARN.  If anyone has ever told you that you are “high maintenance” then The Barn Loft is probably not for you and we would encourage you to consider one of our other stays offered here on the farm.  Please note from the photos that you will need to be able to climb a 12 ft ladder to access the loft.  Backpacks are recommended but a luggage pulley is provided. This is an absolute MUST DO for horse lovers!

What Our Guests Are Saying:

“What an adventure!!! I thought it would be a great experience for the kids to spend a
couple of nights at The Loft; with animals. We were not disappointed! We live in a city, but the kids had seen and fed farm animals before. “Living” on the farm for a couple of days though was a different experience; it was amazing. My 8yo and 10yo enjoyed feeding the chickens, ducks, bunnies, and horses; playing with the dogs and cats. We went tubing as well but the animals made a lasting impression. From the very first cock-a-doodle-doo, the kiddos wanted to go and see if they could help around the farm. Before we left, they asked if we could come back for TWO WEEKS. Donna and John made our trip very special. They made us feel like part of their family. They were great with the kids, very patient – welcoming millions of questions; involving the little hands in brushing horses, feeding chickens, etc. They are very committed to their guests. Although, they had personal company during our time at the farm, John and Donna always had time for us. They never made me feel, like our stay there or the kids were any inconvenience. That speaks to their integrity. We will be coming back.”

“As a city slicker from Chicago but a farm girl at heart, this was the most incredible stay! I’ve used Airbnb several times before, but this was without a doubt my best experience! Even with several children and lots of farm chores, Donna and John responded almost immediately to my every question. They took the time to give me a farm tour, help me ride their horses, and dropped me off to kayak. Let me just say this. I stayed for a few days and loved it so much that I came back a few days later…. The solitude, the fresh country air, amazing hospitality, and beautiful lodgings are all you can ask for. Not to mention, despite being in a barn, the loft was impeccably clean. I will be back without a doubt, and recommend this place to everyone!”

“Super cool and unique stay! There are at least 20 bird nest in the ceiling of the barn so it was cool to see them flying around and feeding their baby’s. All the animals were super sweet. My kids loved getting to feed and ride the horses.”

“As long as I’ve had the means, I’ve focused on traveling where I can, getting off the beaten path, and discovering interesting, unique stays. While the Ocoee River might be a popular tourist destination, I can safely say that John and Donna’s property still ranks at the very top of places I’ve visited all on its own, and I’m extremely glad we chose their barn loft getaway for our long 4th of July weekend.”

“A great place to spend vacation if you love animals. it’s truly a one of its kind experience. Very friendly animals and especially the cats, they will never leave your side during the stay, super friendly.”
~ Aditya, September 2021

“Absolutely one of a kind experience! If you have kids who love animals – this is a place to come every year! Horses and ponies are so friendly, cats are hilarious and playful on your lap, dogs just stay still for cuddles, lamas make the best faces at you, and not to mention the cool and collected camels who just stare back at you with curiosity…! If you don’t like camping or have allergies- this might not be for you and I suggest the other sleeping options they have but if you are not allergic then this is going to be something your children will remember forever! We are coming back here again for sure!”
